AES2025 theme is “Powering Africa: Smart , Innovation, and Energy Sustainability for Growth.
The Africa Electricity Symposium (AES) is Organized by the Electricity Regulatory Authority, bringing together Researchers in academia, industry, policymakers, and energy enthusiasts. This year’s symposium will showcase peer-reviewed research findings, project developments, survey studies, and industry experiences that highlight advancements in, but not limited to, the following areas:
1. Regional Power Markets and Infrastructure Security
Opportunities and challenges in regional power market integration
Cross-border electricity trade and regulatory harmonization
Infrastructure vandalism: impacts, security strategies, and policy interventions
2. Energy Storage, Smart Grids, and Digital Innovations
Digitalization, AI, and cybersecurity in power sector operations
Integration of grid-scale battery energy storage for reliability and stability
Smart grid technologies for efficient electricity infrastructure management
3. Decentralized and Off-Grid Energy Solutions
Distributed generation: mini-grids, microgrids, and hybrid energy systems

Accepted papers will be featured in symposium proceedings and will be considered for publication in associated Journals, Energies (Discussion in Advanced stage) as well as Journals under the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE).

Authors are invited to submit a 500-800-word extended abstract summarizing their research, including title, author(s) details, introduction, objectives, methodology, key findings, discussion, conclusion, and references.
